IFITT Hannes Werthner Tourism and Technology Lifetime Achievement Award
This award honors a remarkable individual who has dedicated their career to advancing technology in tourism, leaving an indelible mark on the e‑Tourism landscape.
IFITT 2026 PhD and Master’s Thesis Excellence Awards
Recognizing the emerging scholars and visionaries whose doctoral and master’s theses are reshaping the e‑Tourism landscape with innovative research and dedication.
IFITT 2026 Journal Paper of the Year Award
Celebrating research excellence by recognizing the most significant and influential paper in the field of e‑Tourism published in 2025.
IFITT 2026 e‑Tourism Industry Contribution Award
Honoring the innovators and organizations that have transformed the e‑Tourism industry, where travel and technology converge to create new possibilities.
NEW award from 2026
IFITT Bitcoin Innovation in Tourism Award
A groundbreaking award recognizing outstanding projects, theses, or academic research demonstrating innovative applications of Bitcoin in tourism and hospitality.
Possible examples include branding, marketing, communications, loyalty programs, and technology implementations — but the list is not exhaustive: new ideas are encouraged.
Prize: up to 1,000,000 SATs (₿0.01) shared between the winner(s), an award certificate, acknowledgement on the IFITT website, and recognition at ENTER26.
Eligibility: completed research projects, master’s or doctoral theses, pilot implementations, or academic studies applying Bitcoin to drive value in tourism/hospitality.
A specialized review panel of experts in Bitcoin and tourism research will evaluate all nominations for innovation, methodological rigor, and contribution to the field and recommend winners to the IFITT board.
Special Journal Awards at ENTER26
Journal of Information Technology & Tourism (JITT) Paper of the Year Award
Published by Springer, JITT is the first scientific interdisciplinary journal focusing on information technology in tourism, travel, and hospitality.
This award honors the most innovative and impactful research article published in JITT between 1 January and 31 December 2025 (online pre‑publication accepted).
Winner selected by the JITT editorial board based on innovation, contribution, downloads, citations, and potential impact.
Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology (JHTT) Paper of the Year Award
Published by Emerald, JHTT is dedicated to research in technology, e‑business, and innovation in tourism and hospitality.
This award honors the most outstanding article published in JHTT between 1 January and 31 December 2025 (online pre‑publication accepted).
Winner selected by the JHTT editorial board on the same criteria.
Awards will be presented during ENTER26, 27–30 January 2026, Breda University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands, and at least one author must attend to receive the award.
