The International Federation for Information Technologies and Travel & Tourism (IFITT), the leading global community dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about the use and impact of new information and communication technologies in the travel and tourism industry, has officially launched its MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region chapter. This development follows the formal agreement to establish a regional chapter office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, aiming to drive forward knowledge generation and sharing within the travel and tourism domain.
The MENA chapter will operate under the guidance of the IFITT President and board and is tasked with organizing events in the region that advance the mission of IFITT. These events will adhere to IFITT’s marketing plan and ethics charter, promoting the organization’s mission and philosophy locally. In addition, the chapter is expected to engage in activities that foster awareness of IFITT and its initiatives, contributing effectively to the organization’s objectives.
Younes bin Muhammad Ahmed Al-Suleiman Al-Faridi has been appointed as the Regional Representative and Chapter Director, responsible for overseeing the chapter’s establishment and aligning its activities with the federation’s goals. The chapter will cater to the geographical region of the Middle East and North Africa, covering 18 countries, and will operate with full legal personality and capacity as per the laws of Saudi Arabia.
The IFITT MENA chapter is a significant step in enhancing the federation’s global footprint, particularly in a region with a rich heritage and a rapidly evolving travel and tourism sector.
