Roman Egger
Roman Egger attended the Klessheim tourism schools from 1989 to 1994 and then studied communication sciences at the University of Salzburg. He initially worked in marketing for the Salzburg Tourism Board and completed his first doctorate. For the past 20 years, he has been teaching and researching in the Innovation and Management in Tourism program at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg, where he established the Department of Tourism Research and the eTourism department.
In 2023, Roman earned his second doctorate in sociology, focusing on data science, from the University of Salzburg. He founded Smartvisions, a company specializing in AI and data science projects in tourism. Currently, he researches and teaches at the Modul University of Vienna. Over the years, he has authored or edited 19 books and published numerous articles in scientific journals.
