Pauline Milwood
Dr. Pauline Milwood is an Associate Professor at Penn State Berks. She received her Bachelor of Science (Hotel Management) and Executive MBA degrees from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica; and her Ph.D. (Business Administration) from Temple University. Dr. Milwood has 25 years of managerial experience in Jamaica’s hospitality sector. Her research interests include entrepreneurship and innovation, social innovation performance, and the strategic performance of DMOs in tourism destination networks. She has presented at numerous international conferences and is the recipient of the 2014 Best Paper Award for the Advances in Destination Management Conference in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Dr. Milwood has published in peer-reviewed journals on subject areas which include the role of DMOs in the orchestration of innovation networks; entrepreneurial ecosystems in tourism; and social innovation performance among hospitality and tourism MSMEs in the Caribbean. Dr. Milwood reviews for several hospitality and tourism journals and serves on the Editorial Review Board for Tourism Review. At Penn State Berks, Dr. Milwood teaches entrepreneurship and innovation, strategic management, revenue management and multi-level courses in food production, operations and service management. Dr. Milwood currently serves on the Advisory Council of the Penn State Berks Launchbox; as member of the Board of Directors for Pennsylvania Americana Region DMO; and on Penn State Berks Committee for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging and as club adviser to the Black Student Union.
