Arkadiusz Tomczyk

Dr Arkadiusz Tomczyk is a programme leader for MSc Organisational Project Management in the People & Organisations department at Bournemouth University Business School. Originally trained as a Chemist, gaining his BSc in Chemistry from the University of Nicolaus Copernicus (Torun, Poland) and MSc in Tourism Management and Marketing from Bournemouth University, Arkadiusz followed a career in management in the hospitality industry. Arkadiusz obtained his PhD at Bournemouth University, and his research interests are Revenue Management, Marketing, personalisation, value co-creation, Tourism and Hospitality Operations and Management, and Human Behaviour. 

Having gained practical experience in hospitality operations management, Arkadiusz teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in higher education. He has taught at Bournemouth University units such as Financial Reporting, Entrepreneurship and SME Management, Event Business, Sustainable Project Management, Business Simulation, practical aspects of Hospitality Operations and Food and Beverage Management. He also teaches project management in practice, revenue management in hospitality resources, and revenue management, and he successfully supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. 

Arkadiusz is very self-motivated, has high integrity, is pragmatic, and is flexible, yet has a structured and analytical approach. Also, Arkadiusz’s teaching has been recognised by awarding multiple ‘You’re Brilliant’ awards (SUBU student recognition award). His professional engagements extend to his consultant and lecturer roles at multiple European universities, where he continues to influence the next generation of hospitality and business leaders. With his excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, he was elected as a vice-chair of the Southern Branch of the Institute of Hospitality, the primary purpose is to promote professionalism through lifelong learning.
