Mattia Rainoldi
Vice President & Director of Marketing
Mattia Rainoldi is Director of Transnational Programmes at the IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at various European universities and tourism-oriented institutions where he teaches courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervises students in their bachelor's and master's projects.
Mattia also has year-long experience in acquiring, leading and conducting international and multidisciplinary research projects in different areas of tourism in the context of digital transformation, resilience, and sustainability with a special focus on strategy and innovation. In the past years, he successfully submitted and won several research grants.
Mattia’s research focuses on the transformative impact of digital technologies on different aspects of tourism and hospitality. He researches, writes, and speaks about how digital technologies shape work and leisure by changing their meaning and boundaries. His current research projects focus on lifestyle mobilities and digital nomadism with a specific focus on how digital technologies shape work and leisure by changing their meaning and boundaries. Mattia is the author of more than 20 articles in conference proceedings, edited books, and academic journals. In 2020, he co-edited the marketing-related book “Eye Tracking in Tourism”, published by Springer in the “Tourism on the Verge” series.
Mattia further serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for several academic conferences and international journals.
Mattia is a certified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator and advises individuals, companies and start-ups on personal, team and organisational development and future strategies.
Mattia is an IFITT member since 2015. As part of his wider community service, Mattia currently serves on the Board of Directors of IFITT as Vice President. From 2017 to 2020 Mattia served the IFITT community as an Auditor.
Prior to stepping into academia, he worked in the tourism and hospitality industry for nearly 10 years. His main industry background is in hospitality, specifically F&B management.
