Jacques Bulchand-Gidumal

Jacques Bulchand-Gidumal is a Full Professor at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He teaches subjects courses on digital business, digital tourism, business models and digital entrepreneurship (startups). His research interests include artificial intelligence, service automation and associated risks, digital business models and the transformation of tourism through digital technologies. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, an M.Sc. in Management of Information Systems from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Ph. D. in Business Administration from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. From 2001 to 2007 he was the University’s Chief IT Policy Officer. During this period, he was in charge of the planning of the deployment of IS/IT, being the author of the Strategic Plan for IS/IT and a methodology for the development of these plans in organizations. Between 2021 and 2022 he was the Director of Customer-Centric Digitalization. He has more than 15 years of experience in public and private companies in the field of IT management. He advices several companies in the process of implementing IT/AI systems. He is a mentor of several startups and a small investor in some of them.
